Testimonials

“…Counselling is nothing like I expected. I half heartedly expected it to change who I was, which I did not want to do. It helped me to understand things in my past, present and the emotions and mental scars that come with them. It helped me to be aware, that it is completely normal to have feelings but also how to keep them under control without letting them consume me…”

“From the offset, Keith made me feel comfortable and safe to share my thoughts and feeling, and over 8 months of counselling sessions, helped me to achieve what I believed was impossible.
As a result of my counselling sessions with Keith, my confidence has sky-rocketed, I’m at peace with my anxiety – and most importantly, I know how to combat it!…”

“As someone who was initially apprehensive to access counselling, having sessions with Keith has had a massive impact on my wellbeing.
I went into my sessions looking for immediate solutions to the issues I was facing, however working with Keith has enabled me to actually face these issues and feelings head on, understand them and in some cases, accept them…”

Did You Know?
the World Health Organisation (WHO) states that “depression is the leading cause of disability worldwide”?
Now you might think..
“Depression is that problem that happens to other people and not me”
..but according to Mind, the leading charity dealing with mental health issues..
..1 in 4 people experience a form of mental health problem every year.
So think about your workplace or your circle of friends. The likelihood is you’re not alone in dealing with this problem.
I have suffered from depression
and can say from my experience how difficult it can be to manage without help. I couldn’t concentrate on anything. Sport, which I loved, seemed to lose its appeal. I simply felt lost and didn’t have any purpose. It can..
.. lead you to feel suicidal.
These were just some of my symptoms but depression can affect us all differently. You might present with low mood; but at its worst depression can lead you to feeling suicidal.
Maybe you can still function on a daily basis but it can also be a real struggle to just get out of bed in the morning.
There are a large number of symptoms but what we shouldn’t forget is how debilitating it can be.
So what can you do about it? Well..
…Treatment options for depression include counselling.
The fact that you’re reading this means that you’re in the right place.
The main treatment options for depression are usually some form of talking therapy, medication or a combination of the two.
The talking therapy I offer is counselling and will provide you with the calm, grounded environment in which we can explore the difficulties you are facing.
Through this exploration I will help you gain a greater awareness of these difficulties. Once you better understand what has brought you to your current situation, you will then find that you have choice in how to move forward.
With my approach, I will help to build your self-worth and empower you to make the changes you wish to make.
Whilst I have all the necessary qualifications to help you, I believe having some personal experience of successfully dealing with depression is an advantage.
I’ve been through counselling myself...
..and I understand how unsettling it may be to first admit you need help and then to ask for it.
The first time you meet your counsellor and share your most personal difficulties can be hard. Just having to face past difficulties can feel like an impossible task.
I understand this and for this reason I’ll help you achieve your goals at the pace which is right for you. This can start with just making that first contact.
